04/05/2002: "Bought And Paid For"

Mike wired the money for Indy to Ron and Brenda this morning. They should get it by Monday at the latest. He will be gelded on Tuesday, and they will be bringing him down on the weekend of May 3rd. Mike and I were thrown a little bit at first because the original “delivery” date was to be the end of May, and there are a lot of things we need to get done before Indy gets here.

Still, I’m VERY glad he’s going to be here that early. I was wondering how I was going to get through the first couple of weeks in May. May 7th would have been DJ’s 24th birthday, and May 8th would have been our 20th anniversary. I never dreamed he wouldn’t make it. I realized time was short, but I was really blindsided, losing him so suddenly like we did. It’s still going to be dreadfully hard, but having Indy here will help a lot.

Matt was hoping to have Ami back barefoot by her next trim or the one after that. I sure hope so, because I have an idea she and Mr. Indy will be doing some World Class ripping and running. She’s already tossed one of those glue on shoes twice - all by herself. I don’t think they’d stand a chance with her in full gallop with Indy LOL!
